Octavia arrived later as the governess for the wealthy Coates family.

Jack Keene fell in love with Kate at first sight, she too fell in love with him as she nursed him back to health. He met Jamie on the boat coming over from England, they were not friends but soon became friends after Jamie rescued him from what probably was certian death.

The town founders and richest family in the area, rivaling, Landers, Timberlane, and even Swensen.A lot of people think the handsome Jacob could have done better then Maryetta Dupree daughter of Frenchie Dupree, who is a bit shy and plain. But Jacob knew there is more then looks to a good woman and soulmate. Jacobs grandfather Francis Amberly a son of a British lord founded the town, and built it from one small store to the village it is now.
Casper married Leatha Martin. they have two children Emily and Jordan
Many a girl has drooled over Paul, but who will win his heart, Jessica feels she will never find the right man someone her father will approve of. She likes Josiah, but knows her father will not tolerate it.

Patriarch and squire of the Swensen family,married Agatha who passed away last winter,
Agatha was the love of Chester Dawsons life until he met Maggie.
Oly remarried in the summer of his fifty eighth year, twenty-four year old Janette Landers
Janette, Caroline's Landers Coates cousin and dear friend, was unfortunately married to Morris Sherry, it was an arranged marriage by her father. Then after his arrest she goes to the church and has the marriage annulled.
Morris Sherry's only child Myrah, who is adopted by Oly Swensen, and doted on by him as if she were his own. She is in love with a young man she does not think her adopted father would approve of.
Janette so far has three sons with Oly.

Astrid Swensen Landers, the widow of John Landers, purchased her new husband Lewis.
Justin married Faith Dunbar a girl he met when he went to school in Riversedge. He now manages the Landers many farm projects freeing Lewis up to do what he does best hang out at the pub and be a father to his children.

John Landers was a wealthy man who made money in livestock and fine blooded horses. When he died suddenly leaving his wife with a son to raise, Astrid being her mothers daughter took matters in her own hands. Frustrated with the lack of good quality men in town and rebuffed by Seth Martin, she bought Lewis's ticket, and struck a deal with Chester Dawson, neither would tell where they got the men they brought to Amberly. Oh if her father were to find out Lewis was an indentured servant. Not to mention a common British thief, although the son of a Lord, born on the wrong side of the blanket. He would cut Justin out of his will.
Timberlane
Timberlane has made his fortune in buying and clearing and selling land. He has a mill and sells everyone in town their wood. He is a bit greedy and some say his greed caused his death.
