Izzy and Zack Go To The Mall
Chapter I
Get A Job
Izzy and Zack are two average ordinary everyday dudes that live in suburbia in an area called Northgate.

"Schools out forever," Izzy sings.
"Shut up dude, they are going to play a Whitesnake video," Zack says.
"There just a Led Zepplin . . . wow she is hot," Izzy says.
"Way hot," Zack says grinning.
Zack sighes as Duran Duran comes on, not even the one with the hot chick in it either.
"This video sucks lets play pong." Izzy sighed.
"Dude Duran Duran sucks, but chicks like em," Zack said.
"This summer is going to be awesome," Izzy said smiling.
"Yeah, we have drivers licenses." Zack said, they had just turned sixteen in May.

"Hey you cheated," Izzy cried.
"No way dude," Zack said.
"Way!" Izzy said.
"Dude I have pick up the dog poop," Zack sighed.
"Cats rule, dogs drool," Izzy snickered.
Izzy got up to use the bathroom and check Smokes litter box, his parents didn't mind pets but nothing ticked them off more then dirty litter boxes and dog doo.

"Dad's home," Buck said.
"So," Izzy said heading back to watch some more MTV.
"Buck go help your mother unload groceries," dad said.
Buck sighed and went without complaining like the good little mutant he was.
His father turned off the TV and Izzy sighed, what had he done now.

"Where is Zack, I wanted to talk to you both before turning over these keys." dad said.
"He's out cleaning dog doo," Izzy said shrugging. Then perking up and thinking did he just mumble something about keys?
"Now that you and Zachary are sixteen and have drivers licenses it is time you got your own jobs and quit relying on allowances from your mother and I, yadda yadda yack yack responsiblity yack yack car yack money yack yack," dad said.
Suddenly that sound of records being scratched and cars crashing went off in Izzy's head, did his dad just say they got a car but they have to get jobs.
Issiac did you hear what I said?" dad asked.
Izzy was trying to fathom what his dad had said.

"You want me and Zack to get jobs, dude . . . er dad, where are we going to get jobs, maybe at the university or the country club or something?" Izzy asked, thinking his dad had gotten them some cool job like cleaning the pool or something.
"No son, you have to go find them, where and how is up to you, university has students doing all their little jobs and the country club has employees you might get a job caddying there," dad said.
Caddying, that was a lot of work, it was hot out there on the golf course, getting jobs oh dude not fun for summer.
"What about this car?" Izzy asked thinking it should be something nice if they were going to have to get jobs.
"It's your cousin Denise's car, you have use of it for the summer while she is at band camp," dad said.
Izzy didn't even know cousin Denise had a car, she was older then them, but she lived in Bayview, it wasn't like they traveled in the same circles.
"You should be able to buy your own cars if you get good jobs," dad said.
"Yeah." Izzy said thinking this sucked.
Izzy went outisde and found Zack.
"Dude you want the bad news or the good news," Izzy said.

"Good," Zack said.
"Dad has gotten us a car to use for the summer," Izzy said.
"Awesome, I wonder if that is it, really cool a Superbee," Zach said thinking chicks would like that car for sure.
"I don't know, but he said we have to get jobs," Izzy said.

"No way,"
"Way," Izzy sighed.
That sucks," Zach said seeing is ideal summer of cruising, pool parties, chasing girls, playing pool, partying at the lake, and chasing girls, partying at Rats and chasing girls, partying at other friends houses and chasing girls, go down the drain and being replaced by work.
"Yeah it does," Izzy
"Did he get us jobs?" Zack asked.
"No we have to find them ourselves." Izzy said.
"Where are we going to find jobs dude?" Zack asked.

"I have this idea, where do all our friends work?" Izzy asked.
"Dude our friends don't work, Snake, Jemal, and Robby none of those dudes work, oh dude this is so bogus," Zack sighed.
"No not our party friends, our follower friends, you know the wannabes, and the hot chicks," Izzy explained, sometimes Zack could be so dense.

"Oh and all the hot chicks work at the mall." Zack said grinning
"Yeah we could get jobs at the mall dude." Izzy said, "Rat works at Morrison Music."
"That is right, That sure is a bad car, I didn't know Denise was cool enough to have an awesome car." Zack said.
"Yeah it is," Izzy said, he kind of vaguely remembered Denise she was a fat kid.
"Mom check out this car," Zack said, "Isn't it cool, "Denise has good tastes."
"Oh honey that is your Aunt Beths car, that other car is your cousin Denises," mom said. "Oh bogus," Izzy whispered, looking at the compact.

"At least it isn't pink," Izzy sighed.
"I am sorry, once my business gets better maybe I can help you two get a better car," mom said hugging Zack.
I smiled at aunt Beth, maybe she would loan us the car, she was my moms youngest and coolest sister.

"Well dude it could be worse, it could be aunt Jan's AMC Pacer or a Gremlin," Izzy said.
"Yeah but dude even Dareys Duster has a fold down back seat if you know what I mean," Zack sighed.

"Yeah how we going to pick up girls in this thing," Izzy sighed, the whole summer just went down the tubes big time.
"Come on boys quit admiring that car lunch is on." dad called.
"Okay dad," Izzy sighed.
"Admiring, I thought we were staring in shock," Zack quipped.

"Well you boys thought about what kind of jobs you are going to apply for?" Dad asked cheerfully.
Zack wanted to stuff the tuna salad sandwhich down his throat.
"We are going to the mall." Izzy said.
"The mall has jobs," Mom agreed, Izzy could tell mom felt a little sorry for us.
"It is a good idea." dad said, "I will give you some gas money four dollars for the week should do it for your job searching."
"Thanks dad, but gas is like a buck a gallon," Izzy said.
"That should be enough, its a small car," dad shrugged.
After lunch Jemal came by.
"Hey dude you going to Darey's party tomorrow night?"

"Yeah wouldn't miss it, where you headed dude?" Izzy asked.
"Over to my uncles, my dad is making me get a job," Jamel sighed.
"That sucks, we have to get jobs too," Izzy said.
"Man why are the 'rents being so bogus" Jamel said.
"Good question, it sure wrecked our summer," Izzy sighed.
"Where is Zack?" Jamel asked passing him a copy of the new AC/DC.
"Cool, you rock. Watching Buck while mom and dad go down to moms shop," Izzy said.
"Bogus, well later dude, seeya at the party." Jemal said.
"Later dude," Izzy said.
When mom and dad came home, Izzy beat it to his room to listen to the new tape.

"Mom! Dad! can I take tennis lessons like Ricky," Buck said jumping around.
"Easy Buck jeeze, let you have one coke and you bounce off the walls," Zack said.
"One coke?" dad asked.
"Okay we will check into the tennis lessons," mom said.
"Oh great the mutant gets tennis lessons while we have to work at Brain freeze or something," Zack muttered.
"What did you say honey?" Mom asked.
Parents were so clueless, Zack thought.
