Jobs At The Mall

When Izzy was in Middle School and Grade Nine he went out with a girl named Roxanna she was a really cool girl, but then he met Darey and Roxanna left town. Some said she was in Arragonne Correctional but Izzy thought she moved because he went by her house and no one was there.

He had never been in love with Roxanna like he had been with Darey, but he thought Darey was way out of his league so he had settled for Roxanna. Honestly Izzy had just forgotten about his first real girlfriend.

Darey had taken him to the mall and it was still early and not open yet.

"Babe I am going to try to get a job anything hopefully part time, my brother is supposed to be here are you going to hang around?" Izzy asked, wondering why Julia had came along.

"What ever you do is fine with me, I wish I could get a job just for the experience but my rents won't let me," she sighed.

"I think I see Jamel," Julia said.

"What are you thinking?" Darey asked smiling.

"How much I love you," Izzy said smiling.

"Oh no," Darey said glancing Julia's way.

"Why oh no, I thought you loved me too," Izzy said playfully, but insided he felt a bit nervouse what if she did not feel the same.

"Oh baby I do but look who else showed up." Darey whispered.

"Oh no," Izzy sighed.

"What do you want," Jamel said trying to keep his temper in check.

"Nothing you got, hi Julia," Jeremy said smiling.

"Get lost," Jamel snapped.

"You know what this is Julia? It is the worlds smallest violin and it is playing just for Jamel," Jeremy laughed.

Julia sighed, suddenly she did not like Jeremy as much as she had.

"I really want to talk to you," Julia said.

Jamel muttered something and walked off.

Then Zack and Chuckster showed up. Jeremy walked over and smiled at Zack and Chuckster and began to exchange playful jabs, and wrestling around.

Darey went over to talk to Chuckster about the next party. Izzy really thought Zack would beat up Jeremy but he wrestled around a bit.

That was when Roxanna showed up, just as Jeremy had planned.

She walked up and punched Izzy in the stomach.

"I thought you were my boyfriend," she demanded.

Izzy was shocked.

"Who is that?" Darey asked, the girl was unfamiliar to her.

"My sister," Jeremy said smiling slightly, "I didn't know she and Izzy were whoohooing."

"Roxanna what the heck," Izzy cried, tears in his eyes, she always could beat up most guys in primary school.

"That is Roxanna I remember her, she and Jeremy were Goth before Goth was cool," Chuckster said softly. He was not a fighter and a bit intimidated by Jeremy and his half sister. She had beat the heck out of him in Grade Six for pranking her.

"You are my boy friend and you been two timing me with blondie there," Roxanna growled, she was Mick Warwick's daughter all right, Chuckster thought thinking she sounded just like him.

"What is going on?" Darey demanded.

"That was last year," Izzy said wide eyed.

"What?" Darey said and looked from Izzy to Roxanna.

"That is right my grandmother got sick and I had to leave town and you said you would wait for me, and I get back in town and what do I see what you are up to, you never answered my letters," Roxanna snapped.

"Is this true Izzy?" Darey asked.

"No . . .yes but, I went out with her last year but then she was gone I never got any letters I didn't know . . ." Izzy said, feeling Darey would not believe him and Roxanna would get her hands on him and he his dreams were as shattered as Jamels.

"See blondie now get lost and find your own man cause this hottie is mine," Roxanna said grinning. Jeremy was right, Izzy had filled out and he was even hotter then he had been last year.

"What is going on?" KayKay asked.

"The mall is open," Someone said.

"Take your hands off of him, he has a mouth and can tell us who he wants to be with," Darey said thinking Roxanna was tough, but she had been a gymnist in Middle School and still practiced when she had time.

"I want to be with you Darey," Izzy said but Roxanna was shoving Darey and suddenly there was a fight.

"Oh my God! Oh my GOOOODDD!" Julia screamed. "She will kill Darey."

"Girl doncha get involved," Jamel cried.

"Someone do something," KayKay cried.

Roxanna had the upper hand, and she may have a lot of upper body strength but Darey rode horses and did gymnastics and all she had to do was get her legs around the other girl.

It was Roxanna that went slinking off. Jeremy was shocked, and wondered if she really was his sister Warwicks were excellent fighters.

"Jeremy what did you have to do with that?" Izzy asked.

"I am the man, I don't need any chick doing anything for me," Jeremy said.

"Don't even think about touching Darey," Izzy said calmly, "I am not afraid of you Warwick."

Darey smiled, Izzy was a lover not a fighter but he would risk his neck going up against a Warwick, he must love her as much as she had hoped.

"She is your woman, I have enough of my own," Jeremy said glancing at the other girls gathered around.

"Dude I got to go in and see Mr. Duncan," Zack said, he really hated to leave Izzy out here with Warwick, Darey would be more help then Chuckster.

"It's cool," Jeremy said and strutted off.

"I will go in with you," Izzy said.

"Jeremy is so cute," Valerie sighed.

"Jeremy has an attitude, I don't like dudes with tudes," KayKay chuckled.

"Really, well you have been having a bit of a tude lately," Valerie said smiling at Jeremy.

"I have not," KayKay said.

"Well you might want to do a check on that tude thing, I got to go open," Valerie sighed, and smiled thinking Chuckster was cute too and not as dangerous as Jeremy as long as you kept him away from lighters and aquanet. Soon he would be wanting his breakfast.

Mr. Duncan set Zack to work restocking

It was kind of boring but not hard, just had to figure out where everything went.

He also had to take inventory which was a bit easier but even more boring. He could not believe he had been here an hour it had seemed more like five.

Mr. Duncan gave him a quick how to on the cash register then opened the store and left to get coffee.

Customers seemed to roll in, and he seemed to be all thumbs when it came to ringing them up.

It seemed like there was a never ending line of them, and finally Mr. Duncan told him he could go to lunch but be back and two sharp. Zack barely had energy to climb the stairs to Pizza Roundup how was he going to last until six.

Finally the day was over, and he was done in, at least Izzy had left the car for him.

Izzy at least simpathized with him.

"Hi Smoke, I don't know if he will be coming home tonight you can sleep with me," Zack told the cat.

"Hello Zack how did work go?" dad asked.

Don't even go there, Zack thought, but he didn't say anything just shrugged.

"Mum I am hungry," Buck whined.

"I will fix something." Mum said smiling, she looked tired.

Zack sighed how did they do it, mum and dad worked all day and she had the energy to fix something for them to eat.

Buck went back out to play and mum and dad did the kissy face thing.

Made Zack want to barf, they were too old to do stuff like that.

Zack thought about KayKay, he really missed kissing her.

Zack missed Izzy and walked off in his room to rest before dinner.

Mr. Duncan was a slave driver he was exhausted. It was do this, do that, run over to the shop and pick up this, go wait on those customers, check out faster.

He wondered if Izzy got a job. He thought about Chuck he was so lucky. No one was after him to go to college get a job, and why was his dad a college professor working as an EMT this summer was the family really hurting that bad for money?"

"Dinner," mum called.

"Grilled cheese yum," Buck said.

Man what I wouldn't give for some of moms speghetti. She never seems to have time to make it any more, Zack thought.

"Hey Izzy." Zack said happy to see his brother.

"Did you get a job?" Dad asked.

"Not yet, I am going to an interview at Burger Palace tomorrow," Izzy sighed.

"Good," Dad said.

"You coming to the pink house Zack?" Izzy asked.

"No I have to work tomorrow," Zack said frowning slightly, he did not want to see KayKay, seeing her today for the few minutes was enough for him to know she was still on his case.

"Honey why don't you go see your girl friend," Mum said.

"I am too tired," Zack said flashing a warning look at Izzy.

Izzy shrugged.

Dad and mum looked at each other and sighed, only Buck seemed happy.

Mum loved her men and wondered if this whole thing was worth it.
